Started in 2004, abandoned in 2007 and repurposed in 2024. Hotfurs used to be one of only 2 online “Subscription Based Paysites” on the internet. When sites like Vixenie, Club Stripes, and BunnyNextDoor went to platforms (Patreon, Onlyfans, Gumroad, Fansly, Kofi) Hotfurs continued to provide free access to all of it’s Classic Art Assets for over 18 years! Alicia was gracious enough to leave the “Content of Hotfurs” to the administrator when she set out as an independent artist. Years passed, content forgotten, left to die in a digital void.
Flash forward nearly two decades. We’ve not been able to find a Lead Artist for years but thanks to a contributor from across the ocean, Goldie, we’ve been able to draft a new collection of original art of original characters and a ton of “Tributes” to other characters from various other properties as we showcase the beloved characters from other “Subscription Sites” from the Anthro “Furry” Fandom.
Alicia’s work was breathtaking. She took her own linework and referred to the Modern Contemporary Master’s (J. Bernal, MaxBlackRabbit, Shawntae Howard, Kenneth Sample, Wolf Kidd, Steve Martin, Goldenwolf, Eric Schwartz, and Doctor Comet) forging her own style. That was from 2002-2007. A five year “Prime Years”. I can’t speak for her current work but the “Hotfurs Era” was what I would call peak performance. It was a pleasure to help find references and occasionally direct the art from the start towards the end. I hope she became something greater because she had Disney and Warner Brothers Artists buying her originals at conventions.
